Donate, Give or Tithe
Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Every gift of our time, talents and treasure is giving a portion of who we are and what we have been blessed with, knowing that we can accomplish far more together than we could ever do alone. Every gift is received in gratitude and celebration at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.
Thank you for all the ways you give and for your faithfulness to continuing to find ways to stretch yourself in giving. When the Apostle Paul writes that “God loves a cheerful giver”, the intent is to remind us that God celebrates gifts given in gratitude and joy.
The gifts we give are gifts to God, are not something we DO for God, but are in response to what God has already done for us.
John Wesley, our founder of Methodism said “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”
