For several years, Sun Prairie United Methodist Church has had a committee of people who have been working to envision how the space between the church and the Wesley House could be developed into a more usable space. The plan is to have a beautiful space with a garden, a paver walking path, flower gardens, trees and a lawn space for kids to play. A future phase would include a covered pergola or gazebo.

Purpose Statement
The Greenspace Committee has developed and will execute a landscaping plan for the existing open space next to the SPUMC. It will be designed to be a meditative and calming retreat. The plan will include commemorative markers for those who want to remember and give thanks for loved ones and have open spaces for enjoying outdoor activities.
Funding
This project will be completely funded through gifts and donations. Money would not be used from the church operating budget or be another capital campaign. The estimated cost of the first phase of the project is $80,000. We already have $63,000 in memorials and personal donations designated for this project.
Making Memories Garden
The Greenspace Committee would like to give congregation members an opportunity to donate to the garden. We are accepting donations for people to remember a loved one, or honor those who are important in their lives. We are selling engraved pavers to be used in the gardens, and asking people to sponsor trees we will be planting this fall.
