A Word from Pastor Jenny about Changes to Online Worship, February 16, 2022
“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!”
–2 Corinthians 5:17
When the pandemic hit in our part of the world the first week of March, 2020, the way we worshiped and shared ministry changed overnight. Our last in-person worship service in 2020 was on March 8. By the next weekend, we had learned how to record and produce online worship and have been recording worship each week ever since.
Even after returning to in-person worship in May of 2021, we have continued to record worship each week for online viewing. This has required a dedicated day and staff person each week to record, edit and produce online worship.
With current changes in our worship production staff and having offered recorded worship for two years, we are making a change in our online worship. Beginning Sunday, March 6, we will be offering livestream worship of both our 8:30 and 10:45 services. You may go to our church website at www.sunprairieumc.org or our YouTube channel to view the live stream worship. Worship services will also be available for viewing any time during the week.
We know changes, especially to worship schedules, take some adjusting, but we hope that live streaming worship will help our online worshipers to feel a part of our worshipping faith community. If you are an online worshiper who typically worships on Saturday evenings, you may still do that, but it would be from the previous week.
Live streaming worship each week will be new for all of us and so it will take some time to perfect our skills, but we also look forward to getting some new technology equipment that will allow us to offer the best online worship that we can.
Thank you for your continued support of our worship ministry and for adjusting to changes as they have needed to be made.
It is a blessing to share worship in a variety of ways each week.
