Honoring the Past, Serving the Present, Providing for the Future
“In Christ Jesus the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling pace for God.” ~ Ephesians 2:21-22
“Rooted and built up in Christ and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in gratitude.” ~ Colossians 2:7
Honoring the Past ~ Serving the Present ~ Providing for the Future
Our story as the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church has been being told for 175 years, since 1845 when 11 people formed a ‘Methodist Class,’ which formed the church. Our first church was built in 1867 at the corner of Cliff St. and Columbus St. In 1962, our current church was built.
Many changes and additions have taken place to our church building and are part of our story, all for the purpose of growing and sharing our faith.
2020 Capital Campaign – Honoring the Past, Serving the Present, Providing for the Future
“In Christ Jesus the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.” ~ Ephesians 2:21-22
It is with gratitude that we open wide the doors of our church building to share the good news of God’s love through worship, ministry and service. It is also a blessing to see how our beautiful church offers us the opportunity to connect people to God and to each other as we open our building to numerous groups in our community.
Our three-year Capital Campaign includes two things:
– Work to elminate our $1.2 million building mortgage
– Replace our aging parking lot at an approximate cost of $100,000
Our goal for this campaign is to eliminate our mortgage in 3 years!! With a wide base of support, our gifts work together to make a powerful impact and difference as we continue to share the good news of God’s love for all people and continue our story that began in 1845.

Our commitments are an expression of gratitude, love and worship to God. Our gifts also represent the witness we make both to honor God and to invest in God’s work here at SPUMC.

2020 Annual Stewardship Focus – “Preparing to Grow”
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” ~ 2 Peter 3:18
Our annual investment in our faith community makes our ministry possible. Our combined gifts will further our SPUMC vision, “to be a welcoming home where we share God’s love.”
As you consider your financial stewardship toward our church ministry, consider making your offering through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
Giving electronically allows your offering to come consistently to the church and allows us to budget more efficiently.
If you are not an EFT (electronic funds transfer) giver, we invite you to consider this easy method of having your offering transferred from your bank to the church each month. Having your offering automatically come to the church helps us to know the funds coming in each month, which helps us be the best stewards of our gifts. Forms for EFT giving are available in the church office.
If you are already an EFT giver, thank you for considering increasing your pledge for 2019. A new form needs to be filled out when your pledge is changed.
Thank you for all the ways we share of ourselves and our gifts in our ministry together!
